About Riad Scarlett
Our Story
Melanie and Hervé took over the riad in 2026, bringing together their passion for hospitality, architecture, design, food and wellbeing.
A graduate of the École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), Melanie previously co-founded and opened two boutique hotels in Brussels with her brother, Made in Louise and Made in Catherine. She is also a chef trained at Lenôtre, with a deep passion for cooking and a love for sharing it with others. As a certified breathwork and ice-bath coach, she will also host intimate wellbeing retreats, combining hospitality, food and experiences designed to reconnect body and mind.
Hervé is an entrepreneur with a long-standing passion for architecture, interiors and design. Together, they have undertaken the complete renovation of the riad, carefully combining contemporary comfort with the soul, craftsmanship and architectural traditions of Morocco.
They have now made Marrakech home with their three children, a city they have loved and returned to for many years.
Riad Scarlett is their first hotel in Marrakech, opening its doors in December 2026. Scarlett is their eldest daughter and their two boys are already dreaming of having a riad of their own...

At the heart of the riad, the traditional patio is a peaceful, shaded haven, centred around a fountain and surrounded by lush plants and flowers. It offers the perfect setting for a moment to slow down away from the bustle of the Medina.
